Cory Environmental (Gloucestershire) Ltd operates a landfill site near Stoke Orchard called Wingmoor Farm West. This is the site to the west (Stoke Orchard side) of the railway line. There is no relationship between the operations at Cory's site and the landfill operated by Grundon Waste Management Ltd which is to the east (Bishops Cleeve side) of the railway line.

Wingmoor Farm hazardois waste site takes waste that is classified as hazardous. This classification ranges from waste which may be harmful but is not generally considered toxic - e.g. paints, varnishes etc. - to waste which is known to be toxic - i.e. can and will harm the environment and human health.

Grundon Wingmoor Quarry Landfill has a PPC permit to accept up to 250 000 tonnes of waste each year, including up to 50 000 tonnes of Stable Non Reactive Hazardous Waste. The comapny tell us this landfill has 3 years remaining cappacity. This is also the site on which Grundon have built a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) to process 50 0000 tonnes of waste each year. It is currently operating without planning permission. This aerial view was taken in 2004 It shows Wingmoor Quarryand Grundon's Wingmoor Farm Easte site. The Quarry is the section closest to the houses. The proposed Materials Recovery Facilty (MRF) will be on the site seen here just below the rugby club.
